We have a bomb in our toliet!

With Chey there's never a dull moment. She keeps us laughing.
Tonight she was in the bathroom with me and the toliet wasn't flushing right so I lifted the lid to check it.
She said is that a BOMB! And of course I said yes it is, and I hope it doesn't blow up next time you are sitting on the toliet. And she replied, it's not gonna blow up you have to light the string first. Of course, I should have known. Then she ran off to tell Britt all about the bomb in our toliet. She never did ask WHY we have a bomb in our toliet.

And now our lil comedian is sound asleep, not the least bit worried about bombs. I just hope she doesn't tell everyone at church we have bombs in the house. Ha!

Library-Fire dept

Cheyenne's favorite storytime day every year is when the firemen come.

When they ask who wanted to come try on the firemans coat, guess who was first in line?

When they ask who wanted to help spray the fire hose, guess who was first in line?

And, when they ask the kids to stand next to the fireman for a group picture guess who jumped up right next to him?

She was also first one to sit in the fire truck. Meanwhile, Ryan just wandered around doing his own thing.

Afterward I ask Cheyenne if she wanted to be a fireman when she grew up and she said, "NO, then I'd have to get a partment and I don't want to move out." She thought about it a minute and said, "I think I'll just grow up and be a normal girl." I guess normal girls don't need partments.

Congratulations Chase!!!

Chase made employee of the month!

AND

Was offered a Team Leader position!

The only down side, it is Team Leader of the one position that he dislikes the most...Redemption. The area where you go to turn in your tickets for toys. Oh well.. but he gets a 50 cent an hour raise and free meals. I'm not sure which one he's more excited about though.

We are "incredibly" proud of you Chase!
You've worked hard and I know you'll do well in your new position.
CONGRATS
WE LOVE YOU
!!!!

Enjoying the nice weather before it's gone!

Since the weather was so nice we made a fire and roasted marshmallows tonight. Then girls wanted to tell ghost stories and guess who all is sleeping on my floor now.

Some of us enjoyed the smore's a little too much!!

Britt's in trouble when it really does turn cold.

Library Day

Today's theme was alligator snap! at storytime. We heard stories and a video about alligators and colored a picture of an alligator. Then Chey played on the computer (they have preschool games) while Ryan played and Courtney found some books.

Ryan has allergy/sinus type stuff so he's slobbering and
has a runny nose. I think the slobber is because his throat
is sore. So, hence the beautiful bib.

And check out Courtney:

I took Brittany and Courtney for eye exams last friday. Brittany's eye's have improved a little she only needs glasses for reading now and Courtney is nearsighted so she had to get glasses. I felt bad she walked out with her glasses and said wow everything is so clear now. Ha! I had no idea she might need glasses. Well now she's joined the rest of the blind women in the family.

Brittany's Birthday Party

Brittany had a good time at her party. I think we had about 15 kids here at various times. They ate hotdogs and lots of chips and drank tons of soda. We had a small bonfire and made smores, actually the kids made smores and gave them to Cheyenne, they liked roasting the marshmallows and chey liked eating them. Cheyenne thinks she's as big as all the teens so she was right in the middle of them.

Did you notice there is a "boy" next to Britt in both pictures!!!

Day at the Park and High School Fellowship

This was from last fridays High School Fellowship day at the park. While Chase and Brittany hung out the rest of us fed the ducks and played.

Since it was Sept 11th the High Schoolers had a time of praise and worship and read some poems in remembrance of the day.

Then Chase played football, and Britt and several of the girls played frisbee.

And this is what Ryan was doing:

He liked the ducks from afar but this was a little too close for comfort. As you can see from Chey's legs, she got smart and jumped up on the bench. Once the bread was gone they had fun roaring and chasing the ducks back in the lake. They were real brave then.

And here's one last picture. Chey put on my glasses the other day while I had them off putting on makeup.

She said "look I'm a scientist", I said, are you a mad scientist, she said, "No I'm Happy."

Busy Week

We've had a busy week! Courtney and I started our Beth Moore bible study this week, it's on tuesday nights and we are studying the book of Daniel. I looks to be a good one, lots of bible history which I really enjoy. Court has been wanting to do a Beth Moore study since she listened in on some of the Esther study I did at the first of the year, so I promised her if they did another one we'd do it together, so here we are. She's actually ahead of me on the homework so I need to catch up. Britt got babysitting duty, John was late getting home so she took Ryan and Chey to the nursery and wound up watching two other kids also.

Wednesday, Courtney had a Psy appointment in Houston. She'd gained 10 lbs in a month, so they took her off the Resperidone and put her on Invega which is not supposed to increase her hunger. We hope! And hopefully it will help with the behavior. We should know in about three days if it is going to help or needs to be increased.

We did get our insurance cards in this week and just in time since Court had a dr appointment and then Ryan decided to get sick Thursday.
He went from this happy lil guy....
To this miserable little man....
He was still running fever this morning so being a holiday weekend I figured I better get him checked out. He had an ear infection and got some medicine. His fever is down tonight so he's feeling better and playing some. Hopefully it won't go back up in the night. But he should feel much better over the weekend.
And for now everyone is just relaxin...Chase is off tonight so he and Molly went to the movies, Britt has a friend over and everyone is getting ready for bed and hopefully a quiet weekend.

You never know what you'll find around here...

I found cinderella, back from the ball, sweeping my kitchen....
And this little dumpster diver who thought that someone elses trash was his treasure...
Someone left the empty chocolate ice cream container sitting in the trash and it made Ryan very happy, mom....not so happy! Oh well the kitchen needed to be mopped anyway.

Enter His Gates

Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness: come before His presence with singing.

Psalm 100 was the text for our sermon Sunday morning, and Sunday night Courtney took this verse to heart and "came before His presence with singing."

Courtney, the kid who hates being in large groups of people, the kid who hates talking to people, the kid who does not like to be the center of attention, left people with open mouths and tears in their eyes last night. Never underestimate the Lord, if He wants to use you it doesn't matter what your problems or handicaps may be, you just have to be willing. Courtney is my daily reminder that I just need to take it all to Him and leave it there, trust and obey. So many days, I wonder if the things I do, the talks, the prayers, getting everyone up and out the door for church when no one wants to cooperate,  are really making a difference and then He gives me a moment like last night that reminds me to keep it up. It is worth it.

We are so proud of you Courtney! You did a great job and sounded beautiful, I hope you sing again soon.!

First Haircut

Ryan got his first haircut today!

Before
After
He sat up in the barber chair and never moved or said a word, just watched what everybody else was doing. Well, until the very end that is, the barber tried to blow the hair off of him with the air compressor thing and its very loud and nearly scared him half to death, he tried to jump out of the chair, after that he was done and ready to go. Luckily the haircut was pretty much finished.
He looks like a big boy now!

Here's my big boy home from his haircut, relaxin and reading his favorite book, a toddler bible story book. We read this book literally a thousand times a day. He loves all the animals in it, and it have to make all the animal sounds over and over and over.
